“UNISON”
I am the shooting director for this dance art film.
Thank you for everyone’s help making this complete. ❤️
Enjoy, and turn your volume up for the sound design :))
Something I often think about is the growing sense of polarization in our world. It feels like we’re increasingly expected to choose a side — in politics, identity, work, even relationships. Maybe it’s always been this way, and I’m only now becoming more aware. But there’s something fascinating about watching people transform into a group — about the emotional shift that happens when we go from being alone to becoming part of something larger.
The idea behind UNISON was to explore that transformation — from isolation to connection. I wanted to express it in an abstract, dark, and visual way, without dialogue, to keep the focus on the emotional journey rather than a specific “character” or narrative.
Dance felt like the perfect language for this. Through movement and body language, we could explore emotions like hesitation, trust, vulnerability, and unity. The dancers being disconnected from one another, but as the film unfolds, their movements become, more in sync — as if something unseen is drawing them closer.
UNISON is a visual reflection on human connection — told not through words, but through bodies in motion.
